BES Develops New Ultra High Definition Video Patch Panel
BES is pleased to announce the development of a new video patch panel for the broadcast patching product market.
Meeting the latest 12GHz, 4K resolution requirements, the new video patch panel is suitable for Ultra High Definition up to SMPTE ST2082-1 and beyond.
Darren Fuller, Sales Manager at BES said: “These new high specification panels are an excellent choice for top quality future proof products. The 4K signal capability is the next step in the industry and BES is staying ahead of the game, ready for when that occurs.
“We have incorporated a range of innovative features within this panel to make it a versatile product. Milled 1U extruded aluminium at the front of the panel provides a rigid construction, plus a high packing density enables BES to offer panels with a larger number of sockets, up to 2x32, as well as customisation solutions on request.”
The re-engineered 75 ohm MUdigSA connectors are mounted in injection moulded blocks to provide slight movement for easy alignment and complete isolation of connectors. The panels are designed to be used with U-links and patch cords to make the through connection and provide both excellent return loss performance. Improved designation strips maximise the visible area of paper and clip-on clear plastic retaining covers for ease of assembly, along with the placement of a lacing bar at the rear.
The panel, which will be available for sale in March 2015, has been designed for use in general broadcasting, satellite uplinks, within the studio, for outside broadcasting trucks and more.
BES has an unrivalled reputation for high quality video patching panels. As the first to bring HD panels to the market, it is now in position for the next upgrade cycle from HD to UHDTV, or as has been deemed 4K which offers four times higher image definition than 1080P.
BES also has the capability and resources to offer custom solutions to assist engineers in finding the correct product for the job. Not only is the new panel compatible with a full range of accessories but the number of sockets can be adjusted, as can the spacing between the connectors for different systems. BES can offer silk screening and although there is an appealing standard colour finish of storm grey, there are other colour options available.
