Complete Assembly Solutions for Traffic Signal Systems
A UK manufacturer of temporary traffic signal technology, approached Alpha 3 Manufacturing in search of units for a set of controllers currently in development.
By utilising the Alpha 3 Manufacturing group of companies, we were able to offer a complete solution for the market leading devices. Our engineers sourced and procured PCB’s, enclosures and cable assemblies for the project, working with electro-mechanical specialist, CTL Manufacturing for wiring harnesses and Deltron Enclosures for electronic boxes.
As an outdoor application, environmental factors were considered during the enclosure selection process, as protection from the elements was critical. Following discussions between the customer and Deltron Enclosure engineers, the IP66 enclosure was chosen for its dust and water ingress resistance. A review of the customers’ design led to proposals for improvements and engineers then supplied a drawing for approval before machining and adding inserts to the enclosures in preparation for the full unit assembly.
An important factor throughout the process for the customer was the level of flexibility offered by Alpha 3 Manufacturing. The customer desired instant access to the products when necessary and it was possible to hold stock of both finished goods and sub-assemblies to offer quick response times. By offering a complete turnkey solution, the customer was also able to receive quality goods for a compeititve price.
